Dima Al-Joundi was born in Beirut and graduated from the Cinema Institute in Brussels (INSAS). She moved to Paris in 1995 where she continued directing documentaries for a while before leaving for Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka, Dima worked as a producer/director for Young Asia TV and specialized in media related to development & humanitarian.
In 1998, she returned to Lebanon and established Crystal Films, a film production & distribution company, and the pioneer of the first Europa cinema theatre in the MEA region. In addition, it has distributed more than 25 Euro-Mediterranean films in the region with her Belgian partner Cineart-Belgium & JLA sales agent-France.
In 2005, Dima directed and co-produced Maid for Sale with RTBF TV-Belgium and FR3-France. It was broadcasted on Al Jazeera Intl, Belgian TV, FR3, etc. Since 2006, she is the vice-president of APIMED (Association of Mediterranean Independent Producers). Dima also established the Medimed Doc Market in Spain.
